As you can probably tell I had a hard time not featuring this entire collection...and it is an expansive one! Pono is Hawaiian for righteousness, inspired by a friend of head designer Joan Goodman who epitomized the "Aloha spirit". These beautiful pieces made from wood and shell have been laser cut with intricate organic patterns or an encouraging word or two. Browse the very large collection right here. Find retailers here.

Makool Fall 2008

Fall 2008 collection from Makool. Love the school-girl sweetness in this eco friendly collection out of Portland.

Secrets of Charm

Love the ladylike quality in the vintage inspired pieces by Secrets of Charm. This sweet collection was launched by sisters Sharon and Estee Elkayam in 2004 with their obviously fashionable grandmother as inspiration. The collection continues to infuse grandma's good taste with a love of films, books, and art.

Ivana Helsinki

Amazing prints from family owned Finnish brand Ivana Helsinki. Designer Paola Ivana Suhonen runs the company with her sister, manufacturing each piece in Finland. The production is based on ecological and ethical practices with a focus on handmade details and traditional Finnish handcraft methods. Beyond gorgeous...I should warn you that it seems hard to find in the US so you should scoop up some items on sale at Beklina if you love it!

Tarah Smith

It's probably obvious by now that I've got a thing for a good clutch. Needless to say I fell for the bold details and colors from Tarah Smith. Check out the full handbag collection from this Venice, Ca based designer right here.

Stone & Honey

Apparently I'm showing these merely to tease you...because most of the pieces are already sold out! Forgive me but here goes...Stone & Honey (great name!) is a new venture for Portland based Small Things studio. These hand cut silver pieces have been riveted to agate slabs to create some of the most unique jewelry I've seen in some time. Check them out here and apparently buy quickly if you want something.

Etsy Find- Local Library

Gorgeous and affordable pieces from Local Library by Lauren Haupt. This gal studied furniture design and metalsmithing, if it weren't evident I'd guess she knows how to make a decent piece of jewelry. Check out Local Library here.

Claire La Faye

( 2007 )

Loving these moody images...and collection!... from Claire La Faye. This Parson's Design alum offers reworked old Hollywood style in modern silhouettes for a feminine, red-carpet worthy collection. There is also a diffusion line called CFL available on Etsy that features everyday pieces with vintage details.
